Summer

Summer is my favorite time of the year ! Time to visit a beach or plan a vacation. Anywhere, from short trips to kicking your feet up during the evenings in your backyard. In California, most of the time we have a cool summer breeze that generally starts around 7 – 10 pm.
Some summer tips to keep you smiling !

– Drink lots of H20- Keep hydrated because we can lose water without moving an inch. Especially, when the temperatures rise. Today we were at 105 degrees !
If you get tired of drinking plain water add a lemon or some frozen fruit. I love buying bags of frozen fruits and adding it to my water. Making smoothies or adding it to my ice cream.

– Wear sunblock ! Sunblock should be worn year round but especially in the summer. Not only when your outside swimming, gardening, walking or any activity but even when your driving to and back to work. If your window is not tinted and your on your long commute back to work.. Your face will and believe it or not your neck or chest area can get sun rays that may not be healthy for you OR excessively cause wrinkles later… Of course check with your doctor on his/her medical opinion.

– Aloe Vera always helps with sunburns.. Oouch..just in case ….Price I paid while biking around the ocean last year….I totally forgot about the sunblock….
– During, your travels make sure you have packed some emergency cash on the side. Put it somewhere just in case. Don’t forget to take your credit card. Make sure you have double checked the area you are staying in. Trust me I have learned by trusting a friend to make reservations and when we got there we learned that its next to a gas station and a busy road. The place was not comfortable. We booked for around $125.00 for the night but left and took the loss. We ended up booking at a different hotel which was much more comfortable. Comfort first !

– Longer days equals Motivation to work out and slim down. Eating lighter meals and work out. Simple things like pilates moves more your belly, planking, or crunches.

– Make sure you properly exfoliate your skin followed by moisturizing.
